So this one was too vague to really tell what was what. I guessed that that little white line was teeth but who knows? I did what I could and made things accurate where I could, including that lopsided star. It looks like it’s trying to walk away.
So I wonder what this thing looks like under the hat and robe. It’s got two long, tentacle-like protrusions on each side of its head, but that’s all we know. Maybe that’s not clothes and it really has one big slugfoot.
Why not Zoidberg?
So Craprax is evolved from Crabix, as an alternative to Dzoibix. I’m liking that this is unambiguously a Zoidberg Pokemon. I also like the way Baro sprited out the little separations in its exoskeleton plating. They’re very subtle. This thing is super lopsided though, like the mouth-tentacles took so much effort and take up so much space that the entire right side of this thing’s body is in lower detail than the left.
I said I’d make them all mummy skulls and by god I meant it
I keep having to remind myself that Yugioh was made like a decade before Metal Fight Beyblade because I constantly refer to Pegasus as ‘Card Game Doji’ in my head.
This one’s kind of meeeeeh. Most of Baro’s bird designs are based more closely on real life birds than they need to be. A little more deviation and creativity would help. That said, he likes to pick a good variety of birds at least. He did a Hoopoe line among other things, and now we get a toucan. There’s so much untapped potential with these.
Indinny is Umbreon. Along with Cwabay, Wetway, Joylway, Heatway, and Blosway, we now have all the Quartz Eeveelutions. I wonder what Baro would’ve done for Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon? Anyways, Indinny is really disappointing, especially after Blosway being so incredibly unique and weird. A darker color palette really would’ve helped. Maybe a different tail? It’s so boring.
Hell yes! This is our Espeon! That means its family consists of Cwabay, Wetway, Joylway, Heatway, and Indinny,
who hasn’t been posted yet. Blosway is a psychic type but looks kind of like a sentient tulip. If the ‘blos’ in its name stands for ‘blossom’ and those stray pixels are intended to be pollen, that makes for a REALLY interesting Pokemon. Like, it’s a psychic flower crossed with a rat, with the rat tail as its stamen, and one horrifying illuminati-style eye. I could be totally wrong here, but wouldn’t it be cool? Well, not ‘cool’ so much as ‘jarringly surreal’ which is exactly what I want from Quartz sprites.
This one looks a little more like a whale. I kept the gem idea because I like it. Racevish and Loddish are pretty boring, I don’t know what else to say really.
At first I thought this was a whale, but the ‘blowhole’ looked like it was a raised bump, not a whole, so I made it a gem. I mean, it’s probably supposed to be a blowhole but it’s sprited poorly so I had my fun. Also, Racevish’s tail fin is at the wrong angle for a whale, not that anyone cares.
There’s not a lot to be said here. It’s just a teeny tiny worm and it doesn’t have a whole lot of detail. The shape of its head, if you look close up, is jagged on the bottom, so I interpreted it as some weird mandible…stuff. It’s that or a pac-man ghost.
