'Polbear,' huh?  How disappointing.  Was there no better name for this?   Oh well.  It's a polar bear and there's not much to say, other than its feet are REALLY messed up.  Poor thing.

The eyes are the saving graze of this boring thing.  Other than the tired, baggy, bugged out eyes, there isn’t enough detail on this thing to really comment on.  It’s just kind of…a fish.  A whale?  I don’t know.  Whatever it is, its eyes look pretty funny.

This one looks like a crayon drawing to me, with that flat mouth and low detail.  I can’t think of much to say about it, otherwise.

I like to think that this is some kind of deep-sea terror and behind those collagen lips this thing has lamprey teeth.  It goes directly for your fingers and scrapes them down to the bone.  Oh, and I imagine it makes a ‘doot doot’ noise when it does it.

Donigoni completely lacks all the interesting things its pre-evolution had going for it.  Look at it, it’s just laying there.  It also uses the same general concept and pose as Teamon.  When you have designs with similar body types the least you can do is pose them differently.

So it turns out I wasn’t done with my prep for this writeup

It’s hard to see where its limbs are on such a tiny sprite, but this is totally a biped.  It looks a bit like a Kirby enemy, which I like.  I also like how its tail forms almost a corkscrew shape, and then the stripes in its fur suggest a spiral in the opposite direction from what the corkscrew would spin in.  It probably wasn’t intentional, but it’s a neat effect.

Flameco’s beak looks too huge for those spindly legs to hold up.  Poor thing.  The legs are the weirdest part of this design.  For fun, I tried to make its teeny little toes look as much like the sprite as possible.  Of course, when we’re dealing with a single pixel line, we’re gonna see some unnatural angles when you follow it that closely.  So Flameco has broken toes, I guess.

I like that Burnco seems to be freaking out a little bit.  I imagine it’s hopping up and down on those stubby non-legs and wobbling back and forth, with its huge beak throwing its balance off.  Looking at it now, with those colors and the way its eye is so close to the center of its body, it looks a little bit like a Waddle Doo.  Just a little.

What a lopsided mess.  I interpreted those white feet as shoes.  Look at his back leg, this was the only thing that made sense for that.
